Piravom by election - Who will win...? UDF or LDF ...? AK Antony campaigns March 13, 2012...!

As seen as one of the most sensational and prestigious Assembly polls, Piravom by election sheduled to be held on March 17th (Saturday) has a lot of significance in the present political scenario in Kerala.

While the UDF Party that is ruling Kerala State with a very meager margin on the verge of collapse at any moment, considers the victory of its candidate Anoop Jacob, the son of the late Kerala Congress (J) chief T.M Jacob as inevitable, at the same time, veteran LDF candidate M.J Jacob, and the Left parties that support him dreams of snatching the power in the event of the success of its candidate.

Hence the fight is tough as it is a do or die battle for both the candidates and parties.

Union Defense Minister A.K Antony campaigned for the UDF candidate today and expressed his strong hope that the UDF will win with a huge margin. He said it is a peoples' verdict for the good governance given by the UDF government led by its Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who works for the people with dedication and happiness for twenty hours a day....!

There is mixed reactions among the people of the constituency on who will win in the poll to be held on this Saturday. Who will be declared as the MLA of Piravom on the counting day...???

Political analysts and experts are of the opinion that the recent resignation of  Neyyattinkara CP(M) MLA R.Selvaraj, the visit and campaign of A.K Antony today and the recent controversial defamatory comment of V.S. Achuthanadan on Sindhu Joy... all add up as positive elements to the victory of UDF...!

Please Add your comments and guess who will win...!

  1. Negative factors against Congress (UDF).
    1. Keralites do not like Ayaram Gayaram politics, which is practiced by Congress through Selvaraj.
    2. Railway Budget and its lowest consideration to Kerla. CM and KPPCC President had to say they are unhappy, which is a clear failure from Congress and MPs.
    3. Overall performance of UDF ministry is not up to the mark. UDF is already divided over several issues including league 5th ministership, Pillai and Pullai, Congress groupisms etc.
    4. Clean and develpomental image of MJ Jacob and his political experience.

So the chance is for MJ Jacob. LDF will win with around 5000 margin. If UDF wins, margin would be less than 500.

  3. No doubt UDF will Win, Mr Vijaykumar who commented is a CPM man, that may be the reason where he "dreams in a fools world' for victory of LDF. If its was CPI, then I would say yes, chances are there.

  10. Factors in favour of UDF:-
    (a) Traditional UDF constituency.
    (b) United face of the front.
    (c) Media support of major print media like Malayala Manorama.
    (d) Presence of AK Antony.

    Factors against UDF:-
    (a) Crystal clear image of opposition candidate MJ Jacob.
    (b) Morally incorrect practice of Mr. Shelvaraj and PC George which is unheard in the recent history of progressive

    Kerala.
    (c) Cabinet members, some of whose integrity is not beyond suspicion.
    (d) Propaganda against VS Achutananthan on Sindhu Joy's issue and other petty things like charges against his son.
    (e) Under currents of BJP.
    (f) Not so bad performance of erstwhile LDF Govt.
In my opinion, LDF is likely to win, but on thin margin (less than 1000).

  11. UDF offered to Public that Anoop will be the minister.. So hopefully he will win the election....

Personally I think MJ jacob is far better than Anoop....

  12. If the voters gave more importance to the merit of candidate, no doubt you can Gus who will be the winner.

  13. Once if the UDF face the elections as a united force, they can win any consituency in Kerala with ease. But that happens rarely, thus under currents fix the fate always. But here at Piravom the rare among rarest factor has worked out. So, itz no doubt Anoop will win with comfortable majority.

  16. M.J.jacob will win by margin of 8459........VS was one of the main campaigner....People of Piravom voted against anti people policies and corrupt congress at centre..only exception is our A.K. Antony, who should leave the congress party and join Communist Party of India (M),where he can serve better. My advise to Mr. Antony to jump out of sinking ship of congress.

  17. Hello friends,

What happened to your predictions until yesterday...?

Where are the leaders who shouted that they will win...?

People are vexed with the goonda and rowdy politics.
