Popular Malayalam TV channel Asianet has just now announced the date and venue for the Grand Finale of its noted musical reality show, 'Idea Star Singer - season 6' shortly known as ISS Season 6.

The mega grand finale of the show will be held on December 22, 2012 in a colourful and spectacular event which will be attended by popular celebrities of the Indian cinema arena and leaders of political and social organizations.

There is huge anxiety not only in the finalist contestants, but also in their near and dear ones. Three of the eight participants will be eliminated before that and five will remain as final contestants. From them, the winner star singer, second place and third places will be selected basing on their performances and SMS votes each one gained.

The first and popular Malayalam music / singing reality TV show 'Idea Star Singer's season 6 is nearing to an end with the semi finals being aired on Asianet Malayalam TV channel from October 2012.

Merin Gregory, the Record Setter

'Idea Star Singer' commonly termed as ISS on Asinet Malayalam TV channel is one of the most liked Musical Reality shows in Malayalam. This show has successfully completed five episodes (seasons) and the sixth one is running successfully. All the contestants are doing their best to win the coveted Star Singer crown...!

The show aired on October eighth (8th October, 2012) has gained very high significance with the season's best contestant, Merin Gregory bagging hundred percent marks and thus setting a new record in the long history of Star Singer...! The 2 male judges, popular music director M.Jayachandran and Malayalam's noted play back singer M G Srikumar (who are considered as stingy in awarding marks...!) stunned the other female judges (Usha Uthup and ), the contestant herself and all the world-wide audience by declaring 100 percent marks for Merin who sang and performed the famous Hindi song perfectly well.

Idea Star singer (ISS) Season 5 ends gloriously and Season 6 launched by Dr K J Jesudass

The grand finale of ISS season 5 ended successfully on the evening of 24th September, 2011, amidst wide spread disagreements from many viewers of some quarters, in giving the grand prize of Rs. 1 crore worth house and winner title to Kalpana Raghavendra overtaking, many native singers who were leading ahead of her through out.

But none can deny the fact that her performance rounds were really creative and superb...!

Gana gandarvan Dr K.J. Yesudas' words of praises for Kalpana on her final song also might have helped her a lot in occupying the first place.

Idea star singer Season 6 is launched ceremoniously on this occasion by Dassettan. Season 6 is having five eminent permanent judges 1. K. S. Chitra 2. M. G. Sreekumar 3. Anuradha Sriram 4. M. Jaya Chandran 5. Hari Haran.
