Mani C Kappan's victory in Pala is Not LDF Govt's referendum

The decisive and historical victory of Mani C Kappen in the 2019 Assembly by-election in Pala was not an unexpected or surprising one. It was anticipated by most of the people who were witnessing the dirty political developments in the Pala constituency and in the Kerala Congress (M) party before, during and after the polling. Even though his vote lead of 2943, over his rival is not a big thing in number, his victory in a constitution considered as a bastion of the Kerala Congress and held by its founder chairman K M Mani for the past 54 years since the formation of the assembly constituency is really tremendous.

The victory of Mani C Kappan who is a leader of NCP and a coalition partner in the ruling left democratic front has begun a new debate in the state connecting Pala election triumph with the LDf government's performance. According to the people's popular opinion, the victory of Mani C Kappan is not a  referendum for the policies and the functioning of the three-years-and-four-months-old Pinarayi Vijayan led LDF government in Kerala, as some party leaders sailing in the LDF ship and the left sympathisers claim. There are several other crucial factors that led to the victory of Mani C Kappen as the MLA in Pala.

Here are some of the reasons that helped him to get an easy win over his opponent, the UDF's Jose Tom:

1. The infighting in the Kerala Congress (M) party leadership for the chairman's post and the disunity among its cadre is considered as the primary reason for the failure of the UDF candidate.

2. Most people feel that it is Jose K Mani's pride and prejudice that resulted in the divide in the KC (M) party and the shameful defeat of the UDF in its strong-hold.

3. Mani C Kappen is a popular and vibrant candidate in Kerala both as a social activist and as a film producer, actor and director. Whereas Jose Tom, though a veteran leader, was not known even to many people in the other areas of the constituency. So the selection of the candidate was not proper. There is a wrong feeling in the Congress and UDF leadership that people will vote anyone whomever they field as a candidate...!

4. The regular mudslinging activity between the leaders of the UDF and the groupism within the Congress party all have contributed considerably to the failure of their candidate in this just concluded election.

5 The early announcement of the candidate by the LDF and the systematic and collective work of the party-men. But the UDF could announce the name of the candidate very late without coming to a consensus.

Here is the number of votes secured by the candidates:

1. Mani C Kappan (LDF) - 54,137 (won with a lead of 2943 votes)

2. Jose Tom (UDF)         - 51,194

3. N Hari (NDA)             - 18,044

The voters of Pala thus sends a message that in the place of K M Mani, they will not place anyone else but C K Mani and elected him as their representative...!

2016 Indian Assembly Election Dates, Details, Opinion polls, surveys

The chief election Commissioner of India Dr Nasim Zaidi on Friday (March 4th) officially announced the dates and other important information about the conduct of the Assembly Elections to be held to the four Indian states and one UT. With this announcement, the model code of conduct has come in to force in these states and union territory.

The elections to the state assemblies of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry will be held on May-16 in a single phase on one day. And it will be conducted in Assam in 2 phases and in West Bengal in six phases starting from 4th April and ending on 16th May, spread over 43 days.

The counting of votes will be held on 19th May, 2016 in all these states and the results will be made known following the counting.

This time the electronic ballot boxes (EVMs) to be used in the election will have photos attached to the names of each contestants to avoid the confusion of voters that may arise due to the increased number of fake candidates with similar names of the official candidates who can split some votes and can adversely affect the winning chances of the candidates.

Another speciality of this election is that 'NOTA' (none of the above button) which is gaining popularity and getting more votes due to the wrong selection of candidates by some parties, also will have an official symbol.

Even though some news channels have started collecting and airing some opinion polls and surveys to measure the winning chances of parties and candidates, seeing the pathetic failure of different survey and exit poll results conducted and declared by popular news channels and companies in the past, people have lost faith in any of them.

The actual results of the elections will depend upon many actors. Some factors that are prevailing now and some incidents that may occur during the time of election will also influence the voters' minds. Parties particularly the oppositions in all these states are busy making alliances with other parties for a marginal victory and overthrowing the governments in power by hook or crook..!

Election time is considered as a golden period for most people particularly the mass vote bank who get money, liquor etc from all parties and contestants and many sops by the parties who lure them easily and cheat them there after for five years. The most pathetic part is that we will be forced to see many violences and deaths related to theses elections.

'Operation Sulaimani' Initiative launched in Kozhikode, Kerala, India

Operation Sulaimani is a noble initiative kick-started by some charity minded persons in Kozhikode of  Kerala. The very aim of this movement started by the Calicut District administration with the cooperation of the Kerala Hotel and restaurants Association is to provide food to someone who is hungry with the sponsorship of someone else at the end of his / her meals.

As per this scheme, a person after having food at any hotel or restaurant can voluntarily pay for the food of some unknown hungry persons and these 'orders' are given to a needy starving person in the form of a coupon and with this coupon he / she can go to one of the 50 hotels and restaurants who are participating in this project now and can have food to his / her heart's content. The person who goes to a food center with a coupon will be treated equally with the other customers / guests who are capable to pay.

The people of Kozhikode who are generally described as hospitable and good Samaritans have welcomed this idea with both stretched hands. This project is in line with 'the pending coffee (or) suspended coffee' of Italy, 'operation sandwich' in England, etc through which an unknown person who goes to a hotel or restaurant for food can pay for some meals (one or two or more, depending up on the financial capacity of that person) for some one who is genuinely hungry and cannot afford to pay for a meal. Unlike other service activities, this is purely done by strangers for strangers anonymously.

This novel idea which is inaugurated by Malayalam film director and humanitarian activist Anjali Menon in Kozhikode of Kerala is ready to spread to other areas of the state and other states.
It is noteworthy to mention the similar project 'food on wall' functioning successfully in Malappuram, the neighbouring district in Northern Kerala. According to this, any magnanimous person can sponsor some food for someone else and a 'token' for that will be hung on a board on a wall of the hotel. Any poor person can have any food of his choice in exchange of that token and its worth.

When corruption and crime is increasing in the society, more and more people are also trying to compensate these with their charitable minds and activities. This gives us a lot of confidence and hope. Let all people emulate the good things that is taking place in the society and use their effort, time and money for the spread of the good things in 'God's Own Country'  and in the whole world. Those who cannot spend money particularly the youth and children can spend some time and use the internet and the 'social media networks and connections' for such rewarding activities instead of using them for bad and dirty things...!

May God Bless all who serve HIS less fortunate children...!

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
Though the state of Kerala is small in land size, the number of Educational institutions are more as the density of population and the necessity of education is very high. Hence not only schools and colleges, but high class professional institutions like engineering and Medical Colleges are at par with the population and demand.

Best (Top) Engineering College in Kerala: Amal Jyothi College of Engineering

There are 14 government Engineering Colleges, 24 Govt. sponsored Self financing Engg. Colleges and 119 Private Self financing Engineering Colleges (Total 157 engineering colleges) in the state of  Kerala which is also known as 'God's own Country' and which has the highest literacy rate in India.

For a detailed list of all the Govt., Govt sponsored Private and Private self financing engineering colleges and their addresses and full information, please visit the official Kerala government Commissioner for Entrance Examination's website:

http://cee.kerala.gov.in/collegelist/createdfiles/eng.php

Although most of these engineering colleges stake their claim as the best and top most college in Kerala, the opinion of prospective students and their parents is different.

Let's leave the Government engineering colleges and asses and rate the private engineering colleges in people's parameter to assist the aspiring students to find and secure an admission in the best engineering college in Kerala in considering many practical aspects in common people's perspective.

When a boy or girl completes his/her +2 (plus two) previously known as pre university course (PUC) [and the same is called as intermediate course in some other states] and wishes to join an engineering college to pursue his/her higher professional education as an engineer from a reputed college, he/she together with their parents and guardians start their search for the best college in many aspects.

When people say an institution is the best, it should possess very good buildings in a vast area to accommodate and provide all the necessary facilities for the comfortable study and stay of its students.

Secondly an institution is rated as the best basing upon the dedication and the commitment of the management and the teaching and non-teaching faculties including the Principal and the HODs who strive hard to provide best and quality education giving priority for the bright future of the students.

An ideal institution should have very good ambiance and all facilities including favorable climatic conditions and it should provide an eco-friendly campus with a conducive atmosphere for the calm and peaceful stay and study of all its students.

Homely, hygienic and tasty food also should be served to those who need it at affordable cost. A good institute gives priority to the standard of products and services it offers rather than the amount charged for them, though no institute can afford to provide quality education and other services at loss.

Campus interview training and recruitment drive is another attraction that parents and prospective admission seekers look while searching for admission.

Psychological counselling and yearly retreats also pave way for the stress-free learning and guiding the mind to the right direction along with facilities to play various indoor and out door games and other extra and co-curricular activities.

Strict ragging-free atmosphere and full safety and security of all the students (inmates) particularly the girl students is also a matter of concern.

Although most of the Private Engineering colleges in the state of Kerala are of reasonably high standards,There are a few engineering colleges like 'Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology' in Kakkanad, Kochi (http://www.rajagiritech.ac.in/), St. Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology in Choondacherry, Pala in Kottayam district (http://www.sjcetpalai.ac.in/) , Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology in Nalanchira near Trivandrum (http://www.mbcet.ac.in/), Marian Engineering College, Kazhkuttom in Thiruvananthapuram (http://www.marian.ac.in/) etc. that are offering outstanding performance in all aspects and have earned the people's appreciation and high regard.

But when comparing 'better than the best', 'Amal Jyothi College of Engineering' at Koovappally near Kanjirappally in Kottayam district (http://www.amaljyothi.ac.in/) is the highly preferred engineering college in Kerala for fulfilling all the above criteria and its unique super specialty status among all the private colleges in Kerala state and probably in entire South India make it rated as the 'Best (top) Engineering College in Kerala in all the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016..... by the common people!

Joyalukkas is the Best Jewellery Shop in Kakinada, A.P, India

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

Kakinada is the capital city of East Godavari District of New Andhra Pradesh state. Kakinada which is a small but beautiful, peaceful and fast developing port city has a number of shopping malls run by leading brands of India.

When commenting, assessing and rating gold and jewellery shops, the advent of popular brands by world famous jewellers in Kakinada has to be discussed.

Until the year 2007, many local gold jewellery shop owners were exploiting the innocent customers by selling their poor quality gold ornaments with more quantity of copper or brass which even they did not buy back at the agreed prize offered by them while selling.

But in 2007, popular Indian brands like 'Gold Plus' by Tata group and 'Mohammed Khan and Sons Jewellery' by another group which has some branches in the state were established and some changes were brought in the traditional method of selling and buying gold. However they could not create a commendable trend in the gold business due to some reasons.

Followed by this another Chennai based popular brand in South India, Khazana Jewellery established their branch in the Temple Street of Kakinda adjacent to the Gold Market Center in 2008 and slowly became the most selling gold shop in Kakinada.

Then the world famous gold brands like 'Malabar Gold and Diomonds' in the Temple Street and 'Kalyan Jewellers' on the Main road opposite to the Main Post Office were started in 2012 and these Kerala based gold shops with global presence changed completely the traditional gold selling scenereo and started attracting a wide number of customers who were earlier going to far away cities like Chennai and Hyderabad for buying gold ornaments in bulk quantity for marriage and other ceremonial purposes.

Then entered the lion in the Gold, Silver and Diamonds retail selling field by name, 'Joyalukkas' which is considered as the 'world's favorite jeweller' in the Temple Street of Kakinada near to the Gold Market area. As Joyalukkas is one of the pioneers in selling honestly the precious yellow metal in the international markets for nearly half a century and the first jewellery Company to be awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 global standard certification for quality and purity, it started gaining the trust, confidence and love of the people fast.

Within just less than one year of establishment, Joyalukkas Jewellery became the most preferred and sought after gold retailer shop in Kakinada for the quality of silver, gold and diamond ornaments (916 KDM) and the numerous models at irresistible latest fashionable designs at affordable cost with discounted rates. Joyalukkas is also preferred by people of Kakinada and surrounding areas for the polite and friendly approach of its qualified, trained, well mannered and dedicated staff under the able, efficient and customer-friendly guidance of its branch manager Joshi Philip and other capable and experienced personalities.

Hence Joyalukkas is highly recommended by most people for buying gold and diamond ornaments with confidence as it is voted and opined as the most trusted jewellery shop not only in Kakinada or Andhra Pradesh but throughout the country and the whole world.

Say NO to 'Kiss of Love' event in Kochi, Kerala on November 2nd. Ban it and Prevent it.

Kiss of Real Love
Some young people are giving online and offline calls for an event to be held in Kochi' Marine Drive of
Kerala on November 2nd Sunday, 2014. The event is named as 'Kiss of Love' and apparently the aim of the organizers is to show their strength and gather as many persons as possible to enact some vulgar shows to attract and misguide the gullible people specially the youngsters.

Many wise and concerned citizens feel that 'Kiss of Love' is another war on our culture, history and tradition. So there are many people who opine that this show and such shows must be banned and discouraged, otherwise such events will give motivation and wrong inspiration for those people who seek instant publicity by any means to organize even more dangerous things in future like the 'world naked bike ride'...

To express their strong protest against 'moral policing' and to counter attack those who infringe upon the personal freedom of individuals who resort to damage the Indian culture by adapting some vulgar and nasty means done in some countries, some people have formed a Facebook Group and many persons have reportedly joined this.

Giving a kiss to someone we love is quite common, but certain things that are done privately must be done so. Publicly showing intimate scenes will do more damage to the society and the generation to lead our country further....!

Please stay away from it and discourage it. Parents, Teachers, Guardians, Elders, Political leaders, Religious gurus and everyone... please see that your loved ones not only participate in such things but even works to dissuade their friends and neighbors.

Piravom by election: Heavy polling - about 40 (latest) percent voted by 10.30 am on March 17th, Saturday -2012.

The much anticipated Piravom by polls have started as scheduled on Saturday, 17th March 2012. People have come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. In a surprising move about 40 percent of voters have cast their votes in support of their parties by 10.30 am itself. The 1.85 lakh voters of the legislative assembly constituency will decide who their MLA would be today...!

As a positive sign of people's interest in the by-election with large publicity and considered as a matter of prestige and of-course a must to win for the fronts, most of the voters of the constituency have voted in the morning itself.

Though both the main contestants are optimistic about their victory, only one party will be declared as winners on the day of counting of votes on March 21st. Even though many companies who conduct exit poll surveys and post poll surveys, the actual out come can be determined only after the counting of votes. Malayalees around the world are anxiously awaiting to see the result of Piravam by-polls, as it may have some direct or indirect impact on the UDF Government which came into power less than a year ago with very least margin.

Though many people consider that the out come of this election will be a verdict for the good and fair governance of the Oomman Chandy government in Kerala, however there is huge stress among the political leaders as no one can predict the mind of the people. The lesson all learnt from the recent Assembly elections held in five states.

Italian marines mistake and the stand of the Governments of Kerala and India.

The unfortunate incident of shooting to death the two fishermen of Kerala by the two mariners of the Italian ship, by mistake thinking them to be pirates, has become a top most issue for the government of India for nearly  two weeks since the incident. The people who shot at the ill-fated fishermen confessed the mistake and agreed to make good the loss by paying suitable compensations.

Many people in the country have started asking why this incident got so much priority and publicity. When our county is not able to rescue or interfere in the matters of its citizens welfare and security when related to some other countries why the governments are giving too much hype for this accidental incident occurred by mistake...?

It is also notable that those marines who committed this crime have already agreed and confessed of it, and it will be good if our politions and government involve in this incident for the welfare of the bereaved family who lost their beloved ones and try to get them maximum compensations, without anticipating any political mileage in the coming bye-elections.

After all we all know that nobody can bring the dead back....but we can reduce the pain of the dear ones of the deceased...!!!
