Actor Suresh Gopi vs NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair

Malayalam film star Suresh Gopi on the Aruvikkara by Poll day on Saturday (June 27) was shooed away by the Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary Sukumaran Nair, when the former went inside the venue where an annual executive meeting of the organization was taking place.

This incident has become a hot topic of discussion on the electronic and social media platforms. While majority of the people of Kerala including the branch heads of NSS across Kerala are backing the General Secratary's brave actions, the Baratheeya Janata Party (BJP) along with its allied organizations and some persons belonging to the film Malayalam fraternity have come to support the actor's action.

Reacting to the incident, many people opine that Suresh Gopi's decision to visit the head quarters of NSS in Changanassery in Kottayam district and the general secretary and other top office bearers on the morning of the Aruvikkara by election day was to get some political mileage for the BJP with which he has declared his loyalty recently and from which he has received a big post of National importance. Smelling trouble and allegations, the general secretary told on the face of the star (who expected VIP reception against all odds) that the society's crucial budget meeting is on and it is meant only for the members and asked Suresh Gopi to go out. After the film star left the premises, the general secretary explained what had happened to the other members who welcomed and accepted it with huge applauds.

But the incident did not seem to end there. Some people wanted to use this opportunity to attack the general secretary who wants the Hindu Nair Service  Society to keep equal distance with all the political parties and not to show any special favour with any parties including the BJP which is considered as a party driven by the sangh parivars (religious fanatics).
