Aruvikkara by-election 2015 Contesting Parties / Candidates List

Even before the declaration of 2015 By Election Notification by the Election Commission of India, Aruvikkara Assembly constituency in Kerala has become a hot and prestige issue for all the political parties in the state.

While it is a life and death battle for the ruling Congress led UDF government as the people are going to consider the outcome of the by poll as a referendum for it, the Opposition LDF has taken this as a prestige issue and a golden opportunity to topple the government.

UDF dissidents Kerala Congress (B) R Balakrishna Pillai and his son B Ganesh Kumar and Anti Corruption Democratic Front (ACDF) founder P C George have vowed to see the defeat of the UDF (though they are still in the UDF). Their only aim apparently is to see the defeat of the UDF candidate rather than the victory of the parties or persons they are supporting.

The LDF selected its candidate ahead of all other parties on May 28th. After two days the UDF could announce its candidate. The ACDF chief George has announced that it will field its candidate and the BJP too is looking for a strong and suitable person.

The list of Contesting Candidates and four main Political Parties for Aruvikkara by poll 2015:

1. LDF  - M Vijayakumar of CPI (M). Former minister.

2. UDF  - K S Sabarinathan (Cong). Second son of late G Karthikeyan

3. BJP  -  O Rajagopal. Former Rajya Sabha MP and central minister

4. ACDF-  K Das (Independent with the support of ACDF)

Dean Kuriakose UDF vs Joyce George LDF in Idukki: Who will win?

As the elections for the Lok Sabha seats is nearing, all the concerned Political Parties and their allies are trying their best to win each seat throughout the country not only as it a matter of prestige for every one but also it is a do or die situation for some.

Idukki Parliamentary seat has become a talk spot as the High range protection committee (with the support of the diocese) has openly fielded a candidate its legal adviser Joyce George for the first time with the support of the CPI(M) led Left Democratic front.

The open attack of the Idukki Bishop on the UDF's candidate Dean Kuriakose and the facebook post of V.T Balaram in retaliation to the Bishops comments, all will have significant effects on the ensuing elections' results.

People are anxiously watching to know which alliance in Kerala will show their might as Idukki seat is concerned.

The ruling Oommen Chandi Government has performed satisfactorily barring the shameful involvement of most of the Congress (UDF) leaders in the Saritha S Nair sex and corruption scandal and the alleged political interference of the top persons to protect the accused.

On the other hand, the CPI(M) which has evidently and clearly backed or directly involved in the gruesome cold blooded murder of T.P Chandra Sekharan has once again distancing itself from the common man who wants to lead a peaceful life.

Many voters feel that, If the Aam Aadmi Party could put a base in Kerala earlier, it would have been a threat to both the existing corrupt fronts in Kerala with which many average people are vexed...!

Neyyattinkara By Election 2012. Campaign started by all parties. Who will win...?

As the election campaign for the 2012 by poll for the hot Legislative Assembly seat of Neyyattinkara in Kerala began, there is vigorous campaigning taking place there by both the rival fronts of Kerala - UDF and LDF.

While the UDF has decided to support R Selvaraj who has resigned from the LDF following rift with the left front leaders, the LDF has announced officially its candidate F Lawrence, who is a loyal CPI(M) activist and a member of the Nadar community to which R. Selvaraj also Belongs. The BJP who hopes for a better performance in the constituency is planning to field O.Rajagopal as its candidate.

While some people who are BJP sympathizers believe if the BJP works properly, leaving aside their differences  they (the BJP) can win this seat as the main election battle is between two people belonging to the same NADAR community and same Religion.

How ever it is seen as a tough time for the UDF, different from that of the Piravom experience, owing to their constant fight inside for the Muslim League's fifth ministry and all the controversies that followed...!

However many people opine strongly that the statements of aired by NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair or the SNDP President Vellappally Nadesan have very little effect on the people of the Nair and Ezhava communities who have clear political affiliations...!
