Election Commission of India Announces 2012 By Poll Dates in 9 States. June 12, 2012

The Election Commission of India has announced the much awaited dates for the By-Election June 2012 for nine states that are ready to face the franchise of the people for different reasons. Totally there are 28 Assembly segments and three Loksabha constituencies spread across nine states preparing to go for the by poll in June 2012.

The actual by-election schedule in this regard is to be issued by the election commission of India on May 18th, 2012.

The last date for filing the nominations by the candidates is May 25th, 2012.
Nominations scrutiny will take place on May 26th
Last date for withdrawal of nominations is May - 28th, 2012.
The Elections will be held in all the 28 State Legislative Assemblies and 3 Loksabha constituencies on June 12th, 2012 (Tuesday)
And the counting of votes will be held and the Results of the 2012 by-poll declared on June 15th, 2012.

At the same time the EC has also announced a different by-poll schedule and dates for the Assembly Seats in Neyyattinkara (in Kerala) and Cortalim (in Goa) where by elections are to scheduled to be held on June 2nd, 2012. 


Notification will be issued on May 9th.
Last date for filing nominations - May 16th.
Scrutiny of nominations - May 17th. 
Last date for withdrawal of nominations - May 19th.
Polling - on June 2nd,
Counting of votes and Results on June 15th, 2012.
