The Education Minister of Kerala P K Abdu Rabb officially announced the 2015 SSLC (X class) Results in Thiruvanthapuram just now (April 20th Monday evening). This time the results were prepared and announced at express speed to make a record. The pass percentage this time is about 98 percentage (97.99)...! This is also much more than the earlier years.
Unlike the earlier years, the teachers who valuated the answer scripts were asked to use only pencils instead of pens. This instruction has caused some criticisms and allegations.
This year out of 4,68,273 students who appeared for the exams, 4,58,841 passed and became eligible for higher studies.
The SAY (Save An Year) exam for those who failed only in one subject will be held from May 11th to 16th. Application for SAY exam can be submitted from April 28.
Many people feel that though it is good to make more students pass, the increased pass percentage like 98 % will spoil the educational standards of the state about which it used to boast earlier. If it continues like this after few years the pass percentage of the state will be more than and above 100%...!
