According to the common feeling, this offer is long overdue. The previous UPA government had already announced to make the whole country under 'free roaming' but failed to execute as promised. Even when the BJP government had promised an year ago to implement free roaming facility throughout India but could come to a conclusion just now only after one year.
However the announcement of the union minister of communications Ravi Shankar Prasad is considered as a boon to most people and is welcomed by all.
It was earlier felt that how can a person travelling in different areas of 'One India' be charged highly for the incoming and out going calls when he/she crosses one state border.
BSNL, the first and largest telecommunication network in India which recorded a whopping profit of 10,000 crores in 2004, reported a massive loss of 7,500 crores in 2014 due to the inefficiency of those who managed it. This is when many telecommunication companies though small are reaping huge profits with their well planned and customer-friendly marketing tactics.
Most of the loyal subscribers of BSNL are discarding the state run network for their poor services and high cost for call charges. Even then those who are concerned at the top are not realizing the situation and trying to make necessary changes to bring more people in to the network and increase its profits.
That's a good news... :-)
