How to apply Online for Income Certificate in Kerala? വരുമാന സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ്

While most employees working in Government offices these days in Kerala work carelessly, irresponsibly and in a snail's pace to complete the work of the citizens in a timely manner, I should gladly mention that there are still some departments and officers who are responsible to their posts and try to work sincerely and promptly.

I made the above statement from my own experience and that of many common people. In 2018, I submitted an application to a TSO in Central Kerala to delete my name from my mother's 'Ration Card' in order to apply for a separate one, but it took more than 8 months! It is too difficult to believe. And whenever I contacted the concerned TSO office to know the status of my application, I used to get rough answers 'it will be intimated' through phone. At last when I used little 'influence' the work was done in a day!

But when I applied for an 'income certificate' recently online, without going to any 'Akshaya Centres' (owing to covid-19 restrictions and protocol) I was surprised, I got it hassle-free in a couple of days. I don't know whether it was because of the personal merit of the particular village officer or because of the system in Village offices in Kerala.

I am writing this article to help people who wish to apply for an 'income certificate' online from home without personally going out of one's home. The process is simple and appears hassle-free.

Documents needed to apply for 'income certificate' in Kerala

1. Ration card

2. Salary Certificate (if employed)

3. Basic tax receipt (if payee)

4. Land tax receipt (കരം അടച്ച രസീത്)

5. Other documents certifying income.

6. Aadhar card

7. Residence proof

8. Affidavit (if and only needed)

How to apply for a certificate?

To apply online for an 'income certificate' and for some other online applications, the head or a member of the family can make a 'One Time Registration' by clicking the e-District Portal of Government of Kerala.

https://edistrict.kerala.gov.in/

Then on the right side click 'New PortalUserCreation' link in red

Then in the 'form' that opens, validate your Aadhar number first, and then complete the registration.

Then again click the main page: https://edistrict.kerala.gov.in/

Login by entering your login name (email id), password and captcha code (at the right side).

Click 'Apply for a Certificate' on the left. Read the instructions and click 'Get Started'

There are 3 steps in the application process.

1. Enter your family's details.

2. Attach the scanned copies of the above listed documents.

3. Make the payment online (Now the fees is only Rs15)

Note: After submitting the application, you will receive its progress through sms in mobile.

  1. Good to know that such sites work effectively. Going to any govt office for any work was such a torture in the past that this sort of news brings abundant joy.
