Dr Parakala Prabhakar, the husband of present union finance minister (former defence minister) Nirmala Sitharaman, is a noble and admired political economist and social commentator in India. He is very popular in India because he is an enlightened person who maintains a fair and just stand. For some time in the past he served as an adviser to the Andhra Pradesh government holding a cabinet rank. He also presented a live 'current affairs' debate program on some Telugu TV channels which was watched attentively by many people.
Last year (in 2021) when the 84-year old Jesuit Priest and noted tribal rights activist, Fr Stan Swamy (Fr. Stanislaus Lourduswamy) was brutally killed in the hospital only because of the apathy of the Indian government and the judiciary, the whole world felt very sad and condemned and criticized the inhuman stand of the government that denied even a 'sipper' to the aged and sick Father who was suffering from Parkinson and had difficulty to hold even a glass in his hands. And the Indian judiciary mercilessly rejected his bail pleas also.
Now with the reports of the US based forensic firm that Fr Stan Swamy's computer was hacked and some illegal files were planted by the NIA itself, what the people around the world thought and said have been proved to be true.
Immediately after the sorrowful judicial custody death of Fr Stan Swamy, Dr Parakala Prabhakar published a video through his youtube channel condemning the custody killing of Fr Stan Swamy. Dr Prabhakar's video about Fr Swamy has been going viral these days as whatever he opined then have been proved to be right today!
