Global Earth Hour is observed on the 31st of March, 2012. On this day all the people are expected to voluntarily switch off their lights and power as a mark to promote global 'save energy' campaign and to highlight environmental sustainability. In 2011, it was recorded as the 'largest global voluntary activity' in which more than 1.3 billion people participated in the move worl-wide.
London super model Miranda Kerr is the brand ambassador to promote Global Earth Hour Campaign this year too.
Kerr who is 28-years old is a popular activist for the environmental issues and she is famous for running her own firm of organic beauty products. She has joined the Earth Hour 2012 campaign to motivate and encourage the world public to observe the earth hour on March 31st for one hour (sixty minutes).
She has declared that she had made the commitment to reduce her footprint by offsetting all her travel plans. She has also called up on the global communities to to adopt simple practices like recycling, switching to energy efficient lights and appliances and making into practice the 'paperless banking systems' etc to make a difference in saving and protecting the earth on which we live...!
