Kochi (Nedumbassery) to Munnar heli taxi fare: Book online here:

The much awaited helicopter taxi service from Cochin International Airport to Munnar was officially inaugurated by electricity minister M M Mani yesterday. Sufficient number of trial runs were conducted successfully earlier. The heli taxi service is to be operated jointly by the district tourism promotion council and Bobby Chemmannur groups's Enhance Aviation company.

Heli taxi facilitates tourists to reach Munnar from Nedumbasserry International airport within just 35 minutes and save a lot of time on the road. They can also have an aerial view of Munnar and enjoy the picturesque beauty of the spectacular hill station. Other tourists who reach Munnar by road can also have a joy ride for 10 minutes in the sky.

Heli Taxi Fare:

A group of upto six passengers can fly at a time in one helicopter.

The fare (cost) for one side trip per person is Rs.9500/-

For joyride to see Munnar's scenery from the sky for 10 minutes: Rs.3500/-

In times of emergency, travellers can also avail air ambulance services.

'Adventure on wheels' inaugurated in Malappuram of Kerala

The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) of Malappuram, under the aegis of the KTDC
(Kerala Tourism Development Council) has launched a new initiative by name, 'Adventure on Wheels'! This is as part of their strive to promote tourism facilities and to attract more tourists who love trekking and mountaineering.

This is the first of its kind venture in South India. To begin with, the DTDC has introduced some vehicles with all built in facilities needed for the comfortable and convenient stay of a group of six persons in one one vehicle. The specially designed vehicles are equipped with umbrella tents, folding beds, chairs, desks and e-toilets.

Kerala tourism minister A.P. Anilkumar has officially flagged of the vehicle for the comfortable and pleasant use of tourists.
