Medjugorje was a small, ordinary and insignificant village in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the eastern Europe until 1981. Since Blessed Virgin Mother Mary granted her historical apparition to 6 children on the Apparition Hill on 24th June 1981, it has started gaining popularity despite strong oppression and suppression by the then government and gradually became a center of Catholic Marian pilgrimage in these years.
