Goa counting over. Final results declared. BJP storms to power with 26 seats...!

The small western state of Goa also has forsaken the oldest party of India, the Congress. As the results of the 2012 Assembly elections are announced, BJP has seen an unexpected victory in the state and for Congress it was a shameful defeat.

The BJP and its allays have swept a simple majority in Goa, much to the surprise to all the contestants and parties.

Goa Total Seats - 40

BJP +  won    ----26 seats
Congress won -----9 seats
Others won      ----5 seats

Congress wins in Manipur for the third time.

As the counting of votes come to an end and the results are declared, Indian National Congress Party has only very little to rejoice. The oldest National Party which faced defeat in the major three states has a little relief with its victory in Manipur.

The party's only relief is that it has got clear verdict in the small North Eastern State for the third consecutive year, where it can form its government.
