Finally the Kerala Government succumbs to the 'Anti-Liquor campaigners: Liquor ban begins gradually.

Finally Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the Excise Minister K. Babu who were adamant in their efforts to re-open the 420 closed bars in the state for hygiene and sub quality reasons, were forced to give-up their stand unable to withstand the anti-liquor campaign of KPCC President V.M Sudheeran getting the full support of the Christian and Muslim Communities and the women beyond party and communal lines.

Though all preach and pass statements against the use of liquor and drugs specially by the younger generations, only some show guts to stop this evil which is one of the main reasons for many crimes and family disputes.

The CM in a press statement made it clear that 'all bars in the state hotels below 5 star status' will be closed soon. And the government is planning for a total prohibition in the state within 10 years from now.

Though many people welcome this move happily, there is anxiety on the other side. Like most government mechanisms that fail in implementing government decisions, many people opine that this will also give rise to chances of corruption through illicit brewing and making country-made liquor and flow of duplicate spirit based drinks from other states.

It will be very difficult for those who are habituated to booze (as Kerala is one of the states in India to consume more alcohol in India) to give up the habit immediately, but this will show great change in God's Own Country in the years to come...!

Debate: Whether Liquor should be Totally Banned in Kerala?

The battle between the supporters of liquor mafia and those against it in Kerala aka God's own country which started some months ago, is increasing day-by-day and the debate is becoming more serious with more people and communities joining the 'anti-liquor' crusade each day.

From the beginning, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Chief V.M Sudheeran was against the renewal of the bars that are closed. He has been advocating for a step-by-step of liquor ban in Kerala.

But the Chief minister Oommen Chandy who was strongly backing the excise minister K. Babu who wanted to re-open the closed bars, is slowly withdrawing as more and more partners of the UDF including the Kerala Congress (M) and the IUML have openly supported the PCC chief's stand for a total and permanant prohibition in the state.

The Catholic Church which is very prominent in Kerala has also raised its voice for total ban of liquor in Kerala.

K M Mani to become next Chief Minister of Kerala?

Popular and very senior Political Personality of Kerala and the founder of Kerala Congress (M) Party, K M Mani is the only accepted political leader across party lines. He is the long standing and senior member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly having entered the 'Guinness Book World Records' for presenting the maximum number of annual budgets in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

Mr K.M Mani also holds the rarest distinction of serving as the Minister of Kerala Government for the longest period. He also holds another record of representing the Pala Assembly Constituency continuously since its inception.

Now the Congress government led by Oommen Chandi is facing so many allegations of corruption and sex related scams, the LDF Government led by the CPI (M) is seriously considering to topple the governemnt with the support of the Kerala Congress (M) group MLMs offering Chief Minister Post for K.M. Mani.

But Mani who is a sharp, seasoned and experienced politician is worried of the future of his party after the tenure of the present assembly.

But most people feel and opine that Mr. K.M. Mani is very eligible and the most suitable person to adore the Kerala Chief minister's chair as he is comparatively less corrupt and scandalous.

If the LDF take immediate initiative and make K.M Mani as the Chief Minister, it will definitely benefit the party and be a fitting treat for the mutinous and corrupt ridden Congress party.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) holds mega rally in Delhi demanding to Dissolve Assembly and conduct Re-lection

Breaking their long silence after the General elections 2014, the once popular news maker and news breaker Aam Aadmi Party founder and his team re-appeared on the news channels with their mega rally held in Delhi demanding to dissolve the Delhi Assembly and conduct re-election immediately.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which categorically swept the previous general elections 2014 with thumbing majority, promising 'good days' for the people of India, could not keep up their promises and are gaining the wrath of those who voted them to power because of the sky rocketing price rise.

The AAP thinks this is the right time for an election as it will be considered as a 'progress report' for the BJP's more than 60 days rule disappointing the electorate.
