The number of people affected by the coronavirus pandemic in India is beyond calculation. Many agencies and service-minded people are involved in the covid relief activities everywhere. In Kerala too, we can see some persons rendering exceptional services to the affected. Sabu M Jacob, the founder Director of the 'twenty20 Kizhakkambalam Association' is one such. 

The twenty20 Kizhakkambalam has already distributed 8207 food kits each costing Rs. 1500 (totaling Rs 1 crore 23 lakhs) to deserving poor. They have also distributed 14,88,000 face masks worth 2 crores 23 lakhs and 1,24,000 sanitizer bottles for Rs 1 crore 24 lakhs. In addition to these, they have also distributed Homeo drugs to combat covid spending Rs 79 lakhs as of now. All these charity works they could complete successfully without getting any external aid.

Now, as the task ahead is enormous, Sabu M Jacob the brain behind the 20-20 Kizhakkambalam Association, has launched a noble idea to involve all philanthropists who are interested in charity. It is known as the 'Food Challenge'! Anyone interested to be a part of this virtuous venture can contribute their mite (what they can afford) and be a proud part of this project. By sharing something that one can afford with their fellow being, one can get some feeling of joy.

Humanitarian Hospital Project - A hospital for the poor by Rev Fr Davis Chiramel Trust

Rev Fr Davis Chiramel (Chiramel Achan), also known as 'Kidney Father,' is a Catholic Priest belonging to the Thrissur Arch Diocese. He is the founder of two well-functioning NGOs, 'Kidney Federation of India' and 'Accident Care & Transport Services'. As he himself had donated one of his kidneys to a kidney-damaged patient and started his noble mission, he became an example to many.

He has also started many initiatives to help the poor, needy, and marginalized people and they are functioning pretty well. Even during this covid pandemic time, one can see his team's services are a big solace to the poor in the society who are generally not covered by any governments.

Now the biggest dream of Rev Fr Davis Chirammel is about to be fulfilled. A huge multispecialty Humanitarian hospital for the poor and less privileged people. As per the wishes of the founder, the super-specialty hospital will render all services absolutely free. The aim of the hospital is to make everyone happy. For the realization of his dream, he is expecting more service-minded experts to join his trust.

The Humanitarian Hospital Project is anticipating many service-minded specialist doctors nurses and other staff to join forces and offer their valuable services for free. However, it is not that easy to get all the required employees for free. So there is wide scope for all people who are seeking a prestigious job in a model healthcare project.  

Anil Thazhathel belonging to a philanthropic family of Alathur in the Palakkad district of Kerala has donated 30 acres of land which is very ideal and suitable in all aspects for the proposed hospital project. The hospital will come up in Pulippara near Mangalam dam in Alathur soon with the help and support of donors. 

Father Davis in his first video message, has categorically denied the involvement of any person in this initiative who is business-minded. He asserted that this mega hospital project will be executed and run by a charitable trust which is to be formed shortly. He has also welcomed philanthropic people to become active and passive members of this trust .

Though most people are welcoming this move, some are very apprehensive about the outcome of this project which includes people who may appear as service-minded outwardly but cunning inside. Fr Davis Chiramel is a Catholic Priest who has no family, kith, or kin. But all the members of the Trust are common men who have all of them and love profits. Those who have doubts about the smooth running of this charity project fear that once the project receives the necessary funds easily as the person in the forefront is a Catholic Priest and becomes fully functional, those with a vested interest will join together and hijack this prestigious project in the future.

Anyhow lets all hope and wish that this noble venture becomes a reality at the earliest and bring hope and happiness to the less privileged sections of society.

Devoted Kerala Minister who never misses Rosary Prayer- Roshy Augustine, Water Resources minister.

Even though the previous government by Pinarayi Vijayan (from 2016-2021) was full of allegations of corruption  and mismanagement, the people of Kerala gave their huge mandate to Pinarayi Vijayan for another term which is a very rare event in the history of Kerala.

In the second term, Pinarayi Vijayan is expected to be more careful to avoid such allegations against his government. He has removed all existing ministers and appointed all new faces in the cabinet. Many of the newly selected candidates are expected to marvel in their portfolios by their outstanding performance and integrity. But some have unfortunately a history of doing malpractices!

Roshy Augustine, the MLA from Idukki District who is included as a minister minister for 'water resources' is one such person. He has defeated powerful former MP from Idukki Adv Francis George. This itself shows his acceptability among the public for his selfless services in his constituency.

New Kerala Cabinet Ministers and Portfolios in Pinarayi's 2nd term

There are many people who fear that with the repeated thumping victory in the second term also, Pinarayi Vijayan would become a more arrogant dictator both in the state and in the communist party. The main example they point out is the celebration planned for the swearing-in of the new members of the cabinet on May 20th, when the whole state is under lock down and the capital city is under very strict triple lockdown.

Even though requests and objections came from many quarters including Indian Medical Association, Pinarayi Vijayan would not budge even an inch from his decision. This attitude has caused great apprehensions even among those people who voted him to power.

During the second term of Pinarayi Vijayan's rule, all the cabinet ministers are new faces. When all the sitting ministers were removed, all expected that health minister K K Shailaja would be given an exception and continue in the office, as she has received global acclamation by tackling the first wave of covid very successfully in the state and is still dealing with the pandemic during the lockdown days too.

But Pinarayi Vijayan who is said to have hijacked the CPI (M) politburo has decided to sideline even K K Shailaja, but he chose to be an exception to become the Chief Minister once again.

Indian DRDO creates history by developing anti-covid 'MIRACLE DRUG'

The Defence Research and Development Organisation of India (DRDO) made a historical invention which is expected to bring a sigh of relief to the people of India and the whole world who are under the grip of the devastating covid devil. At a time when the covid pandemic caused by corona virus is spiralling beyond control in the country and claiming numerous lives, the discovery of this miracle medicine may be an answer to the prayers of the devotees.

According to sources, the 2-DG anti-covid drug invented by DRDO which is in powder form when dissolved in water and swallowed, it will immediately increase the oxygen deficiency and reduces oxygen dependency in covid patients and cure the disease within 3 days. Hence this drug is also expected to solve the severe oxygen shortage faced by the country due to the steep increase of covid patients in India.

Taking the gravity of the situation into consideration, the Drug controller general of India (DCGI) gave emergency approval for this new medicine which is termed as a miracle drug or magic drug against covid disease.

According to the press release by DRDO, they are making arrangements in a war-footing manner to begin the supply of this new medicine on 11th May, 2021 and complete the distribution as early as possible throughout the country. 

The drug which has passed tests and trials successfully is yet to be used by covid patients. However, the doctors and scientists of DRDO are being appreciated not only by the people of India but of the world. Lets us hope this discovery will be a major breakthrough in the global war against the corona virus!

EXIT POLL Results 2021 for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry

Elections to the Assemblies of Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal states have started or completed on April 6, 2021. As these elections have the highest significance in deciding the fate of ruling BJP, the Congress and other local parties in India, the people are very anxious to know the outcome of these polls. Especially at a time when the petrol prices have crossed Rs. 100 per liter and cooking gas prices about Rs 1000 a cylinder, and the unsolved farmer's strike for their rights for more than 100 days... BJP is facing people's ire throughout the country.

Usually immediately after closing the voting process, numerous agencies and media companies appear with their exit poll results to allay the curiosity of the people particularly the party activists temporarily to some extend.
