Pala by-election on 23 September, 2019: Who / which party will win?

When there are 6 assembly constituencies in Kerala without a member to represent in the legislative assembly, the announcement of the election commission to hold the by-election to Pala constituency in Kottayam district of Kerala at a separate date before the others has already received criticisms from many people and political leaders. The election commission of India which received wide reproval for its biased stand in the past parliament elections appears to be not bothered about all these allegations. Anyhow as per the decisions of some and the announcements of the EC, the voting to Pala assembly constituency will be held on September 23rd 2019 and the counting of votes will be done on September 27th and the results will be declared on the same day.

Pala bypoll 2019 became necessitated due to the demise of its one and only MLA K M Mani who was its member since the formation of the constituency in 1965 and thereafter until his death in 2019. Though Pala constituency is a strong hold of Kerala Congress (M), the previous victory of K M Many was with a comparatively smaller margin.

Who (which party) will win in Pala in this election is a million dollar question at this juncture. People are finding it difficult to make their guesswork or express their opinions due to many factors now, as political atmosphere is in a muddled state in Pala. Probably bypoll to Pala may be one of the most interesting byelections in 2019!

The war for chairman's position within the Kerala Congress (M) by Jose K Mani and P J Joseph factions is the biggest challenge to that party in particular and to the UDF in general. If Nisha Jose is announced by Jose K Many, there are chances for P J Joseph to clash and field another candidate. Even this conflict will definitely affect the chances of the the UDF which otherwise can create and encash the K M Mani sympathy wave for a colourful victory.

Another factor that will affect adversely the UDF is the divided stands by the Congress leaders like Sasi Tharoor M P and the attacks by other leaders like K Muraleedharan M P. Disobedience of the leaders to the authority is a major challenge for the party that will distance some nuetral voters from it.

The LDF's Mani C Kappen is an accepted candidate who proved his might in the previous assembly poll battle by reducing considerably the vote margin of K M Mani who was like an undisputed titan. But as the present government by Pinarayi Vijayan has been proving to be a very big failure mainly due to the highhandedness of the police and DYFI/SFI, most of the people are waiting eagerly to see the end of the LDF government in Kerala.

The above conditions will work favourably for the NDA who otherwise has lesser chance to bag a victory in a place like Pala. The candidature of P C Thomas who is accustomed to Pala, the support of P C George who also has considerable hold on Pala (though his stand not predictable) and the huge campaigns of state and national goliaths, etc may make it difficult for predicting the outcome of this election.

Vengara by-election 2017. List of Candidates: The winner is...

As the countdown for the Vengara by elections scheduled  to be held on October 11 is nearing, all the parties concerned are holding hectic electioneering and making special strategies, as the political scene this time is bit different from the earlier ones. Vengara Assembly Constituency in Malappuram District of Kerala used to be one of the surest forts of Indian Union Muslim League which is the strongest part of the UDF. But this time as there is a rebel candidate for the IUML who claims to be capable of dividing the voter bank and defeating the official candidate.

The Final List of Contestants after the last date of withdrawal of Nominations:

1. K.N.A Khader (Muslim League) UDF

2. P.P. Basheer   LDF

3. K. Jayachandran  BJP

4. K.C Naseer   SDPI

5. K. Hamsa  IND

As it is a matter of prestige for the ruling LDF and the incumbent UDF to win the seat, it is the desire of the BJP also to increase their vote share to  understand the graph of their growth in Kerala.

Muslim League is also little worried of the rebels who dared to raise their voice against the leadership in choosing the candidate. If they happen to lose in Vengara, it will be too much for them and the UDF to bear!

The ultimate winner will be decided on the day of the counting of votes. Until the voting is completed anything can happen..!

Minister Maneka Gandhi, the savior of mad dogs and enemy of humans?

It is quite surprising to see the great love and concern union minister Maneka Gandhi has for the street dogs, animals and insects than the human beings. It is also alarming to see the attitude of some elected representatives of the people, showing over-concern in the case of animals, forgetting very conveniently that they were voted and elected by the people to give priority for the safety, security and welfare of the mankind.

We see these days, a good number of people are being attacked by street (mad) dogs in every part of India and many precious lives including innocent children, women and the elderly are lost and many persons are made permanently handicapped due to these unfortunate incidents. It is very sad that none of the elected representatives of the center including the prime minister of India (whose heart bleeded for the sake of Jisha when he came for election campaign in Kerala) showing any sympathy or condolences in the case of the increasing number of innocent victims of street dogs and other ferocious animals.

It is being taught, considered and believed that 'democracy is the government of the people by the people and for the people'. The statements and mentality of elected representatives like Maneka Gandhi raises doubts in the people's minds, whether Indian Democracy is rewritten as a 'government of the animals by the animals for the animals'..!

Most people of India who revers and follows the great words that are written by enlightened poets like Thiruvalluvar in (Thirukkural), can never consider an animal or any other creation more valuable than a human life.

"Padaithan padaippellam manuvukkaka,
Manuvai padaithan Thanai vananka".

[God has created all creations for the sake of man ...
And HE created man to honor HIM]

Today's statement by Maneka Gandhi aired on Asianet news channel shows her immaturity and irresponsibility that she is showing in her department. Many people are asking whether she is not the minister of state for the women and children. When many women are being attacked and killed by street dogs (including 65-year old Shiluvamma recently) she was not found showing any botheration at all. How many innocent children are being attacked by the increasing number of street dogs...!

Maneka's call to the Kerala DGP to imposs CAPA on the socially responsible humanitarian volunteers like Industrialist Kochouseph Chittilapally and noted social worker Jose Maveli are being laughed away by the government and the whole people of Kerala except a handful of so called animal lovers who have gone insane. People of Kerala (including her own BJP party activists) are fully and unitedly backing any movement that gives priority for the welfare of the human beings.

Many people are challenging Maneka to move about alone (without security) in any area of Kerala calmly in an evening to find out and get a firsthand experience and answer to her question why the street dogs are more ferocious in Kerala..! People say these leaders who move about in cars always with z category security can never understand the plight of the common man of this country. They are also worried when such rulers are going to adopt and frame new laws for the protection of rats, mosquitoes, cockroaches, etc...!

2016 Indian Assembly Election Dates, Details, Opinion polls, surveys

The chief election Commissioner of India Dr Nasim Zaidi on Friday (March 4th) officially announced the dates and other important information about the conduct of the Assembly Elections to be held to the four Indian states and one UT. With this announcement, the model code of conduct has come in to force in these states and union territory.

The elections to the state assemblies of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry will be held on May-16 in a single phase on one day. And it will be conducted in Assam in 2 phases and in West Bengal in six phases starting from 4th April and ending on 16th May, spread over 43 days.

The counting of votes will be held on 19th May, 2016 in all these states and the results will be made known following the counting.

This time the electronic ballot boxes (EVMs) to be used in the election will have photos attached to the names of each contestants to avoid the confusion of voters that may arise due to the increased number of fake candidates with similar names of the official candidates who can split some votes and can adversely affect the winning chances of the candidates.

Another speciality of this election is that 'NOTA' (none of the above button) which is gaining popularity and getting more votes due to the wrong selection of candidates by some parties, also will have an official symbol.

Even though some news channels have started collecting and airing some opinion polls and surveys to measure the winning chances of parties and candidates, seeing the pathetic failure of different survey and exit poll results conducted and declared by popular news channels and companies in the past, people have lost faith in any of them.

The actual results of the elections will depend upon many actors. Some factors that are prevailing now and some incidents that may occur during the time of election will also influence the voters' minds. Parties particularly the oppositions in all these states are busy making alliances with other parties for a marginal victory and overthrowing the governments in power by hook or crook..!

Election time is considered as a golden period for most people particularly the mass vote bank who get money, liquor etc from all parties and contestants and many sops by the parties who lure them easily and cheat them there after for five years. The most pathetic part is that we will be forced to see many violences and deaths related to theses elections.

Neyyattinkara By Election, 2012 - Who will win...? R Selvaraj...?

With the completion of the By election successfully in the prestigious Piravom Assembly segment, now it is yet another by poll which is very important for both the fronts in Kerala, the ruling UDF and the opposition LDF...!

As the sitting left MLA R. Selvaraj resigned from his Kerala State Assembly Membership owing to rifts and irreparable differences with the LDF leadership, another by poll has become inevitable for the state which is a prestige issue for both the rival fronts.

As the Congress has decided to support Selvaraj's candidature (though K. Muraleedharan, as usual has started opposing it), the majority opinion of the people is that in the present scenario, Selvaraj would win. How ever nobody is ready to take anything for granted as the previous results of Punjab and UP elections taught strange lessons to the parties.

Many common people are of the opinion that, all the coalition partners in the UDF should behave responsibly keeping aside all their selfish positions and posts for the successful implementation of the welfare policies and projects of the Oommen Chandy Government in Kerala.

The UDF allies like the Muslim League, Kerala Congress (M) , Kerala Congress (B), etc etc...that always have differences with one another and fight often for positions, must understand the sensitivity of the present situation and should be ready to forgo some selfish motives.

Many people think that the chief whip of the UDF P.C George, should speak as a matured politician rather than just like a child....!

If they do not act and behave with sense, they may all pay heavily for it just as their friends did in the North...!

Please guess who will win and add your comments: Thanks....!

Piravom by election - Who will win...? UDF or LDF ...? AK Antony campaigns March 13, 2012...!

As seen as one of the most sensational and prestigious Assembly polls, Piravom by election sheduled to be held on March 17th (Saturday) has a lot of significance in the present political scenario in Kerala.

While the UDF Party that is ruling Kerala State with a very meager margin on the verge of collapse at any moment, considers the victory of its candidate Anoop Jacob, the son of the late Kerala Congress (J) chief T.M Jacob as inevitable, at the same time, veteran LDF candidate M.J Jacob, and the Left parties that support him dreams of snatching the power in the event of the success of its candidate.

Hence the fight is tough as it is a do or die battle for both the candidates and parties.

Union Defense Minister A.K Antony campaigned for the UDF candidate today and expressed his strong hope that the UDF will win with a huge margin. He said it is a peoples' verdict for the good governance given by the UDF government led by its Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who works for the people with dedication and happiness for twenty hours a day....!

There is mixed reactions among the people of the constituency on who will win in the poll to be held on this Saturday. Who will be declared as the MLA of Piravom on the counting day...???

Political analysts and experts are of the opinion that the recent resignation of  Neyyattinkara CP(M) MLA R.Selvaraj, the visit and campaign of A.K Antony today and the recent controversial defamatory comment of V.S. Achuthanadan on Sindhu Joy... all add up as positive elements to the victory of UDF...!

Please Add your comments and guess who will win...!
